Often times Indian eateries tend to put an american twist to make their foods more palatable, but that is not the goal of Opma and Samir. Their mission is to bring authentic cuisines straight from the homes of New Dehli, and they are strict about this standard of authenticity. Samir and Opma of Indian Kitchen are committed to making delicious meals such as the traditional Chickpea Dal without the use of onion or garlic, which is prohibited in the Jain religion practiced in northern India. This passion for traditional Indian cooking has been close to Opma’s heart for decades, but after finding more time for spreading this passion for Indian flavors, Opma and her husband Samir started Indian Kitchen. It’s been two years since then, and now this couple even takes custom orders in the case you want to try something specific from India. However, don’t be fooled, because they will not compromise their standards. You can find the dynamic menu from Opma and Samir of Indian Kitchen over at Frenchtown Farmers Market every Saturday at 10AM!
