One of the most colorful and long-lasting stands at the Frenchtown Farmers Market is run by wife and husband, Rosemarie and Tracy Garrison. In front of them you will see a vibrant array of Jellies, Jams, and Herbs, all homemade with love and devotion by Rosemarie herself.
Rosemarie is a veteran jelly maker with over 30 years of experience in doing so. What started as just a mom making jelly for her kids is now a mom making jelly for kids and adults of the entire Frenchtown community. This happened around 8 years ago when her husband and children told her that her jellies are simply too delicious to just be kept in the family. They were right, and I'm so grateful that she listened.
There is no surprise that local, seasonally foraged fruits make for some of the most decadent jellies Tallahassee has to offer. From the lesser known muscadine to the more popular strawberry, Marie's Jellies always has something you can relish. Literally, as they sell relishes too! However, my personal favorite is the Blueberry Lavender Jelly. With this jelly, Marie was able to balance a bold tartness with an elegant floral sweetness, and this is just one of dozens of her flavors. Writing out the vast variety of products they carry would make for a list longer than most restaurant menus, but don't be confused: Marie's Jellies will never be in a restaurant. These sweets are delicate gems only to be found on Rosemarie's multicolored table at the Frenchtown Farmers Market every Saturday at 10AM. So come by, take a look at her rainbow, and experience her one of a kind jellies for yourself, I promise you won't regret it.
